Sar Aqa Seyyed is an extremely rural village, a few centuries old, located in the Zagros Mountain range, Iran.

Aside from an exceptional few number of travelers have ever heard about the beautifully naive Sar Aqa Seyyed Village, an even more exceptional number of them have had the chance to experience the rare unvisited destination.

Its phenomenal step-like architecture is very similar to that seen in the more popular Masuleh Village in the northern Iranian province of Gilan.

The culture of this tiny community is very untouched and has maintained its traditional heritage for many years.

Life in this green mountainous grove is very rural and simple. Interestingly, all of the homes’ doors open to the same view, facing the same direction, due to their stacked nature.

Surrounded by marvelously rich and undisturbed natural environment, this tucked away village, in its beautiful tranquility, gives its residence and visitors a true taste of bliss.

Having the most minimal amenities, this hidden gem of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province has a very laidback lifestyle. The locals here make a living off of agriculture, raising sheep and cattle, and mining salt.

The women also spend their daytime gathering wood for cooking and warming up their homes, as well as weaving rugs and tapestries and making handicrafts.

In Sar Aqa Seyyed village everybody dresses in traditional Bakhtiari clothing and speak Bakhtiari.

There are currently no public accommodations in this village; however locals accept guests and visitors to their community with open arms.

The best times to visit are the warmer seasons, as comes winter; the only road to the village is completely blocked and covered with heavy snow.
