Russia to host Iran’s short ‘Trauma’

Iran’s short film ‘Trauma’ has been set to compete at the 2020 edition of the International Festival of Detective Films and Television programs on Law-Enforcement Themes, "DetectiveFEST", in Russia.

Directed by Hessam Dehqani, ‘Trauma’ is inspired by a real crime which took place in the streets of Tehran.

“No one hears your cries for help,” a synopsis for the film reads.

“Trauma is a short film about one of the darkest stories we hear almost every day. No matter where we live, it's an everyday violence, affecting close to a billion girls and women over their lifetimes. Based on statistics released by the UN, one rape happens every 120 seconds somewhere in the world,” the director said about the film, adding “Inspired by true events happened in the city I live, 'Trauma' shows how such an event changes the victim's personality, forever.”

‘Trauma’ is starring Zohreh Naeemi and Alireza Mehran.

The upcoming edition of the DetectiveFEST will be held on April 20-25, 2020.
