Greece fest to screen Iran film

Iranian short film ‘Taruma’ is slated to vie at the Anatomy: Crime-Horror International Film Festival in Greece.

Hesam Dehghani’s latest directorial experience will be screened at the competition section of the 4th edition of the Greek event scheduled for October 29 – November 1.

‘Trauma’ is inspired by a real crime which took place in the streets of Tehran.

“No one hears your cries for help,” a synopsis for the film reads.

“Trauma is a short film about one of the darkest stories we hear almost every day. No matter where we live, it's an everyday violence, affecting close to a billion girls and women over their lifetimes. Based on statistics released by the UN, one rape happens every 120 seconds somewhere in the world,” the director of the film said, adding “inspired by true events happened in the city I live, 'Trauma' shows how such event changes the victim's personality, forever.”

The film stars Zohreh Naeemi and Alireza Mehran.

The Anatomy Crime - Horror International Film Festival is an annual event dedicated to independent filmmakers.
