The Festival Alto Vicentino in Italy awarded Iranian short film ‘Leo’. Written and directed by Moeen Rouholamini, the flick won the award for the best short film at the 15th edition of the Italian event.
The film is about a child who finds joy as a sports commentator at a refugee camp. The director once said ‘Leo’ is “a special film” where “Brilliant choices were made to delicately re-construct this world and moments”.
Iranian short ‘I Won’t Remain Alone’ is also awarded at the Parnu International Documentary and Anthropology Film Festival in Estonia. It won the award for best documentary on survival of indigenous peoples at the 28th edition of the festival.
Directed by Yasser Talebi, the film is about an elderly couple with ailments who lives in a small village in northern Iran. Sorraya and Jalal donated their son’s organs after he was declared brain dead.
