Armenian Fresco filmfest hosting Iran’s ‘Take a Nap’

The Fresco Int’l Festival of Modern Art and Spiritual Films in Armenia is screening Iranian short ‘Take a Nap’.

The Fresco International Festival of Modern Art and Spiritual Films in Armenia has been hosting Iranian short animation ‘Take a Nap’.

Directed by Mina Qasseminia, the animated movie is competing at the 2021 edition of the Armenian event.

‘Take a Nap’ is about a boy under the tree blinking while looking upward. The camera traces the boy’s sight.

A baby bird falls down from a tree and hits the ground. The camera passes by the grass and shows a playing field, in which some boys are playing football.

The last shoot concludes with a ball that morphs into a bomb and then an explosion.

The camera tracks back to the first position. A victim of war, the boy sits silently and motionless in a wheelchair.

According to the official website of the Fresco International Film Festival, it “contains competitive and non-competitive programs. Fiction and documentary, full-length and short-length films and video materials of different formats, in which wars, violence, national, religious and any other types of discrimination, ecological disasters of human origin are denounced, and where peace, tolerance, humanism and global values are advocated”.

The purpose of the festival is to promote the spreading of love, solidarity and human values among people through spiritual and cultural dialogue.

Every year the festival unites filmmakers, musicians, clergymen, psychologists, students and other artists from different countries. Within the framework of the festival all participants live and share everything together. Love, Peace, Humanism and Cultural Dialogue unite them.

The 8th edition of the Fresco event has been slated for August 14-29, 2021 in Armenia.
