‘Four Pillars’ in the running at Bakunawa Young Cinema

Iranian short documentary ‘Four Pillars’ has been vying at the 8th Bakunawa Young Cinema in the Philippines.

Iranian short documentary film ‘Four Pillars’ by Mohsen Najafimehri has been vying at the 8th Bakunawa Young Cinema in the Philippines.

Also produced by Najafimehri, ‘Four Pillars’ is currently vying at the Bakunawa festival along with Siavash Eydani’s ‘The Note’ and Marzieh Mandegari’s first directorial debut 'Immigrant' also from Iran.

Made in 2019, ‘Four Pillars’ is about a family who has lost everything they had in flood-hit city of Lorestan.

The short film is also the recipient of the best short documentary award at the 2019 Berlin Flash Film Festival.

The Bakunawa Cinema of the Young is “an annual film camp and series of film workshops for young filmmakers that culminates into a film festival - mostly of genre films (horror, sci-fi, fantasy, folk, noir, folk, etc),” writes the official website of the event.

The 2022 edition of the festival will announce the winners on January 31.
