‘Hero’ among nominees for Humanitas Prizes

Iranian feature ‘A Hero’ has received a nomination at this year’s Humanitas Prizes in the United States.

Asghar Farhadi’s ‘A Hero’ is nominated in the Drama Feature Film category.

‘A Hero’ is about Rahim, a divorced man who has been imprisoned due to unpaid debt. During a two-day leave, Rahim tries to prove that he is a good person.

The movie is starring Amir Jadidi, Mohsen Tanabandeh and Fereshteh Sadr-Orafaee.

‘A Hero’ was awarded the Grand Prix at the 74th Cannes Film Festival in France.

It also grabbed three awards at the Palm Springs International Film Festival in the US.

According to an annual poll of IndieWire, an American film industry and review website, ‘A Hero’ was announced as one of the best 50 movies of 2021.

The Humanitas Prizes “are awarded to honor film and television writers whose work explores the human condition in a nuanced and meaningful way”.

Winners will be announced on September 9.
