Neor Lake, nature wonder in north Iran

Behind the Talesh Mountains, there exists a large lake which looks magnificent during spring.

With a five-meter depth, Neor Lake is a mesmerizing place to visit in summers.

Located on the border of Gilan and Ardabil Provinces, the lake is about seven hours away from Tehran.

The cold season rains irrigate the springs around Neor. That is why the water of the lake is full in spring and summer.

In the cold season, Neor freezes for three to five months. At a temperature of minus 20 degrees, about 80 centimeters of the water turns to ice and makes it a natural ski slope.
