‘Prophet Joseph’ to meet his brothers: iFilm cut

The day has come for Prophet Joseph to meet with his disloyal brothers on iFilm period drama to be screened at 23:00 GMT tonight.

As a child, the prophet was loved by his father, Prophet Jacob, so much so his brothers wend jealous of him and betrayed their father’s trust by taking Joseph away from him.

Years after, at the time of drought, when Joseph has flourished into a young man of wisdom and the now Aziz of Egypt, the ten distrustful brothers come to the affluent country to find food for their hungry family.

It must be the hardest thing in the world to accept seeing the brothers who have stabbed you in the back once and have separated you from your beloved father. How will the prophet of Allah take all these unwanted annoying feelings?

The series, written and directed by late Iranian director Farajollah Salahshour, is the Iranian version of the very beloved story of Prophet Joseph, the son of Prophet Jacob who guided the Israelites to pray to the One and Only God.

“God annunciates to him about the next prophet, who will be from his own generation. One night, his son, Joseph, dreams about the sun, the moon and eleven stars which kneel in front of him. He tells Jacob, who advises him not to tell his brothers about the dream,” comes as a synopsis of the series by iFilm English website.

Prophet Joseph is dear to Jews, Christians and Muslims alike. For centuries, the story of his life has been told over and over in many different ways and in many different languages.

Notable on the cast list are Mostafa Zamani, Jafar Dehqan, Mahmoud Pakniyyat, Jahanbakhsh Soltani, Elham Hamidi, and Rahim Norouzi.
