The closing ceremony of the gala was held at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall on Saturday in presence of various dignitaries, including Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyyed Abbas Salehi, government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani and a large number of artists.
In the stage theater section, the special jury award went to ‘Malek Mohammad’ co-directed by Sahand and Babak Qeisari from Tabriz.
Mojtaba Rostamifar won the best director award for ‘Laam’, and Ebrahim Adelnia received the best playwright award for ‘Hunting Customs of Foxes’.
‘Confessions of a Criminal’, co-directed by Mehdi Habibi and Mostafa Kolivandi won the special jury award in the street theater section.
The best director and the best playwright awards were presented to Saeed Badini for ‘Anatomy of a Letter’ in the same section.
The festival unveiled the Soldier of the Homeland emblem in memory of the Martyr General Qassem Soleimani this year.
Vida Mousavi, the actress and director of the play ‘Sludge-eater’, Reza Gashtasb, the writer of plays ‘Bijan’, ‘Water for Fish’, and ‘A Few Wolves from Mother’s Wedding Mahjan’ and Ali Peiman, the writer, director, and actor of the play ‘Rig Chah’ were the winners in the new section.
The international section of the 43rd festival received a total of 231 works from 46 countries including Russia, Norway, Sweden, Canada, and several African countries in a non-competitive segment.
This year’s edition also dedicated a section to the oppressed people of Gaza.
