Two Iranian musicians have staged an unforgettable act of cultural resistance at the ruins of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) Glass Building.

Houman Baqi and Farshad Sheikhi performed Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 in the structure damaged due to Israel's strike on the Iranian state broadcaster that interrupted a live broadcast on June 16.

The IRIB news anchor, Sahar Emami, was on air when the explosion occurred, causing debris and smoke to fill the studio.

Amid the chaos, Emami resumed the broadcast, condemning the attack and inspiring the Iranian nation.

Beethoven’s Ninth, often referred to as the “Symphony of Freedom,” was selected for its enduring legacy as a musical symbol of unity and resistance.

The IRIB Glass Building has long served as a hub for uncensored, transparent reporting.
