Ahmadi-Motlaq, Abbas (born 1958, Tehran)
Abbas Ahmadi-Motlaq has a degree in acting and directing. He took part in theater and cinema classes before entering university.
He also joined IRIB, where he made the 16-mm film ‘With Permission’ (1982) while writing scripts for the series ‘The First Time I Joined the Revolution’ (1982).
Ahmadi-Motlaq later joined the Farabi Cinema Foundation and made many films there before immigrating to the US for 18 years. He also cooperated with Marziyeh Boroumand in producing ‘City of Mice’ (1985).
He has directed ‘Old Friends’ (2007) and ‘Across the River’ (2008), and has also tried his hand at scriptwriting, including for the movies ‘Suitcase’ (1986), ‘2001 Inventor’ (1991) and ‘Across the River’ (2008).
