Modiri, Mehran (born January 8, 1962, Tehran)

Mehran Modiri began acting at a young age and appeared in a number of plays before attending the faculty of Art at Tehran University.

He left his studies unfinished to go to war during the eight-year Iraqi imposed war. He later made a comeback in theater.

From 1983 to 1995, he was a radio actor and during those years he could collaborate with various veteran theater actors.

The TV series 'Happy Hour' (1994) made him a household name. His success in this series paved the way for his appearance in other comedy shows such as 'Nowruz 77' (1998), 'Number 14' (1999), etc.

In 2002, he directed and acted in 'Tiptoe' a comedy series which highlighted cultural problems and social behaviors in need of reform.

Modiri has appeared in several series such as 'Little Punches' (1992), 'Nowruz 72' (1993), 'The Cherry Orchard' (1993), 'Flight 57' (1993), 'Nowruz 76' (1997), 'Excuse Me, You Are?' (1999), '90 Nights' (2000), 'Parents' Problems' (2001), 'Dotted Line' (2004), 'The Grand Prize' (2005), 'Barareh Nights' (2005), 'Mozaffar’s Garden' (2006), 'Mozaffar's Treasure' (2006), 'The Man of a Thousand Faces' (2007), 'The Man of Two Thousand Faces' (2008), 'Bitter Coffee' (2009-2012), 'Heart of Ice 3' (2012), 'My Villa' (2012), 'I'm Just Kidding' (2013), 'In Hashieh' (2014), and 'Sneeze' (2015).

He has directed many of the mentioned series such as 'Flight 57', 'Happy Hour', 'Nowruz 76', 'Excuse Me, You Are?', 'Number 14', '90 Nights', 'Dotted Line', 'The Grand Prize', 'Barareh Nights', 'Mozaffar’s Garden', 'Mozaffar's Treasure', 'The Man of a Thousand Faces', 'The Man of Two Thousand Faces', 'Bitter Coffee', 'My Villa', 'I'm Just Kidding', 'In Hashieh', and 'Sneeze'.

He has also acted in some movies such as 'The Meeting' (Visit) (1994), 'Tokyo Non-stop' (2002), 'There's Always a Woman Involved' (There's Always a Woman in Between) (2007), 'Tambourine' (2007), 'Tehran 1500' (2011), and 'The Wooden Bridge' (2011).

Modiri released his first music album in 2000.

He was nominated for a Fajr International Film Festival's Crystal Simorgh in 2007 for Best Actor in a Supporting Role in 'There is Always a Woman Involved'.
