Mahaya Petrosian
Petrosian, Mahaya (born January 3, 1970, Tehran)
Mahaya Petrosian studied Theater at the Faculty of Fine Arts at University of Tehran.
She began her acting career in 1989 with performing in the play ‘Marriage Proposal’.
She made her debut movie with ‘Love and Death’ (1990), directed by Mohammad Reza Alami.
Petrosian has appeared in several movies, including ‘The Last Act’ (1990), ‘What is Up?’ (1991), ‘Actor’ (1992), ‘Help Me’ (1998), ‘A Girl Named Tondar’ (2000), ‘The Lucky Bride’ (2002), ‘The Choice’ (2004), ‘The Wrong Wife’ (2005), ‘A Night in Tehran’ (2007), ‘Orange Taxicab’ (2008), ‘Marriage in Extra Time’ (2009) and ’40-Year-Old Single (2014).
Her performance in the movie ‘Seven Acts’ (2000) earned her a Fajr International Film Festival Crystal Simorgh for Best Actress in a Supporting Role.
Petrosian’s appearance in ‘The Last Act’ (1990) also brought the actress a Crystal Simorgh nomination for Best Actress in a Supporting Role.
‘Sheikh Mofid’ (1995) is one of the TV series in which she has taken part.
Petrosian was honored for her performance in the movie ‘What is Up’ at the 10th Fajr International Film Festival.
Her role in the short movie ‘Three Kilometers Ahead’ granted the actress an award nomination from Iran Cinema Celebration.
