Director of anti-Iran film 'Maryam' has no knowledge of history, famous historian Khosrow Motazed says in ifilm show.

The historian slashed the flick's director Ramin Serry on ifilm show “History & Cinema,” saying he wished the helmer would have "a bit of knowledge."

Motazed noted overtake of the American embassy in Iran due to the staff espionage resembles Pearl Harbor attack by Japan on US naval base.

He added Japanese and Americans were able to mingle on the US soil after the issue with no hard feelings, concluding that the film's emphasis on how Iranians cannot mix with American citizens there due to the US embassy takeover was just a lame excuse.

Made in 2002, the flick paints a black picture of the Iranian people and its culture.

"An Iranian-born teenager living in suburban New Jersey thinks of herself as simply an American until anti-Iranian sentiment erupts in her community after" the US embassy takeover, a short synopsis for the film reads.
