In an exclusive talk, ‘This Side-Other Side’ short animation director breaks to ifilm about her attempts to spark off world peace.
Lida Fazli, the director of the short toon whose work is currently attending the short animation section of the International Film Festival for Children and Youth (IFFCY), has made the short to convey the message that no border can limit friendship and love. She emphasizes the fact that the love and kinship that exist between kids is so pure and innocent that nothing can destroy it even the dark shadow of war.
According to what Fazli told ifilm camera, her animation shows some kids from the two sides of a borderline that make friends and play games with one another. This amity between the kids enrages the adults and triggers them to start a war.
The other Iranian short works that will screen in this section of the film event are ‘The Dog that Was Ill’, ‘Resident of Third Floor’, ‘Eaten’, ‘Golden Topknot’, ‘White Stones’ and ‘Jebeer’.
The IFFCY is organized annually by the Farabi Cinema Foundation in affiliation with the Iranian Organization of Cinema and Audiovisual Affairs.
The event celebrates films made for children and youth. It also supports emerging filmmakers with innovative cinematic visions and ideas as well as serves as a platform for professionals to come together and exchange ideas.
The 32nd edition of the film event is currently underway and will run until August 26, 2019 in the Iranian city of Isfahan.
