In an exclusive interview with ifilm, Iranian actor/director Mahmoud Jafari spoke about his experience acting in ‘The Patriarch’ series.
The actor/director reminisced the days he worked with Iranian veteran actors Mohammad-Ali Keshavarz and Hamideh Kheirabadi on the set of ‘The Patriarch’ stating that the series “taught us morals”.
Jafari began his acting career in the early 1960s with the film ‘Judgment Day’ and his directorial debut kicked off in 1995 with the film ‘Problematic Wish’.
Among his accomplishments is the Fajr Film Festival’s Best Supporting Actor award for his performance in the film ‘Yellow Canary’.
‘The Patriarch’ is a classic mid-1990s Iranian series about an old-fashioned father who runs his family in a very traditional manner.
Directed by Akbar Khajouee, the series featured a colorful cast to include Mohammad-Ali Keshavarz, Hamideh Kheirabadi, Mahmoud Pakniyyat, Katayoun Riahi, Kamand Amir-Soleymani, Mahmoud Jafari, and Jamileh Sheykhi.
