Iran’s ‘The Warden’ hits domestic market

Iranian film ‘The Warden’ hits domestic market of home entertainment.

Iran much applauded film ‘The Warden’ has hit the domestic market of home entertainment on Wednesday.

Directed by Nima Javidi, ‘The Warden’ narrates the story of a warden who has big hopes of promotion on his head.

He has recently been assigned a mission to evacuate the prison and move the inmates into another facility.

Should he be able to accomplish his task to the fullest, he will be rewarded.

A prisoner, however, has gone missing which might bring the warden shame and bring down his dreams of promotion.

The 90-minute flick starring Navid Mohammadzadeh, Parinaz Izadyar, Mani Haqiqi and Setareh Pesyani got its premiere at the 37th Fajr Film Festival in Iran where it won the Special Jury Award.

‘The Warden’ received the awards for Best Actor in a Leading Role (Navid Mohammadzadeh), Best Cinematography (Houman Behmanesh), and Best Film at the 21st Iran Cinema Celebration.

Score mixing for the film was handled by Adam Schmidt who had previously worked on projects such as ‘The Dark Knight Rises’, ‘Inception’, and ‘Sherlock Holmes’.
