‘Diapason’ to vie at Black Movie Festival

Iran movie ‘Diapason’ is to vie at the 20th Geneva Int'l Independent Film Festival Black Movie.

Iran movie ‘Diapason’ has made way into the competition program of the 20th edition of the Geneva International Independent Film Festival Black Movie.

Directed and penned by Hamed Tehrani and produced by Alireza Shojanouri, ‘Diapason’ will have its third international appearance at the Swiss film event.

Diapason’ is about a 50-year-old single working mom named Ranaa who is living happily with her daughter Hoda until the daughter dies in an accident.

It was filmed in Tehran and popular Iranian actress Zhaleh Sameti has played the main role of the film.

Behnoush Bakhtiyari, Alireza Ostadi, Mehdi Hosseininia and Hossein Tehrani are also among the cast of the film.

‘Diapason’ was previously screened at the 24th Busan International Film Festival in South Korea and the 17th TOFIFEST International Film Festival in Poland.

The Black Movie Festival is an international, independent 10-day film festival in Geneva which aims to ‘swim against the tide’ of conventional movie fare, celebrating emerging talents and established filmmakers, whose work has not yet been screened in Switzerland.

The 2020 edition of Black Movie will run January 17-26 in Geneva.
