Iranian film ‘When the Moon was Full’ grabs three awards at the 2nd Int’l Political Filmfest of Carcassonne in France

Iranian movie ‘When the Moon was Full’ has succeeded to grab three awards at the 2nd edition of the International Political Film Festival of Carcassonne (FIFP) in France.

The film grabbed three awards including the Grand Prize, the Best Actress award for Elnaz Shakerdoust, and the Best Student Jury Film Award.

The movie recounts a true love story of Abdul-Hamid Rigi, a member of the Jundallah terrorist group.

Hamid Rigi marries Faezeh Mansouri, a woman from Tehran. Faezeh is forced to leave her homeland along with her brother, Shahab, to live in Pakistan where they find themselves involved in the Jundallah rebel activities.

The Rigi brothers were arrested by Iranian security forces and were executed in 2010.

FIFP is a film festival for the general public and schools.

This festival will highlight the works, French and foreign, of fiction and political documentaries of cinema and television. The festival will bring 5 days of screenings, passion, exchanges, and meetings.

The second edition of the event was held from 10 to 14 December 2019.
