The top honors for the 3rd annual Iranian Cinematic Research Awards have been announced at the event’s closing ceremony in Tehran on Thursday.
In the thesis section, Farnaz Sarbandi received the highest honor for her work 'Evaluation of Policies Focused on Cultural Economy in the Field of Cinema in Post-Revolutionary Discourse'.
The top award for the article category went to researchers Sajjad Sotoudeh, Milad Sotoudeh, and Shahab Esfandiari for their work 'The Role of Decoupage in Moral Judgment in the films ‘Glass Agency’ and ‘A Seperation’'.
'Iranian Cinema in Search of Happiness' by Somayyeh Chaichi was the top winner for the festival’s visual research award.
In the independent research category, Mohammad Zargar’s 'Western Writing in Iranian style, Cognitive Research in Iranian Cinema' was the recipient of the top honor.
Organized by the Cinema Organization of Iran (COI), the event was established in order to honor top research activities and institutions relating to film industry.
In her address, the event’s secretary Azam Radvard said that elevating Iranian cinema through research was the main objective of the event.
