The Lonely Warrior of Imam Hussein (AS)

In this ifilm exclusive report, the martyrdom of Imam Hussein's (AS) cousin is depicted in one of Iranian noble series themed on the uprising of the third Shia Imam.

When Imam Hussein (AS) received petitions and messages from Kufa's residents, he wanted to confirm their loyalty by sending his cousin Muslim ibn Aqil to observe the situation there.

He sent a letter to the Imam confirming their loyalty before Kufans went back on their pledge of allegiance for their lives. Upon receiving the letter of Muslim, the Imam left Mecca for Kufa. Muslim was executed by the newly installed governor of Kufa, Ubayd Allah ibn Ziyad. While he was not martyred at the Battle of Karbala, he is counted as one of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for reviving Islam.

In the attached video, the martyrdom of this Lonely Warrior of Imam Hussein (AS) is depicted in one of the scenes from the noble series 'The Mukhtar Narrative' by  Davood Mirbaqeri.

Imam Hussein( AS) and his 72 faithful followers were martyred in the battle of Karbala. Ashura is the culmination of 10-day mourning ceremonies for this tragic occasion observed in Muharram.

The Muharram ceremonies symbolize truth against falsehood and humanity’s struggle against injustice, tyranny and oppression.
