Iranian film ‘Drowning in Holy Water’ has released teaser.

Iranian film ‘Drowning in Holy Water’ has released teaser concurrent with its world screening at the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) in South Korea.

Navid Mahmoudi’s production is among the six candidates to receive the Kim Ji-seok award at the 25th edition of the BIFF, which will run through October 30, 2020. The Kim Ji-seok Award was established in 2017 to honor the late Kim Ji-seok who devoted his life to supporting the growth of Asian cinema.

Produced by Jamshid Mahmoudi, ‘Drowning in Holy Water’ is the story of some young Afghans who go from Iran to Europe.

A synopsis of the film reads, “Rona: Hamed, don’t fear the sea. If you are afraid of anything, it’s more likely that it will happen to you.

Hamed: I don’t.”

The cast of the film includes Ali Shademan, Neda Jebraeeli, Matin Heidarnia, Mahtab Jafari, Farid Eshaqi, Mahya Rezaee, Fatemeh Mirzaee, and Alireza Mehran.

The movie was screened at the 38th Fajr Film Festival, winning nominations in two categories of the best actor and actress in a leading role.
