Iran’s ‘Holy Bread’ to vie at IDFA

Iran’s doc ‘Holy Bread’ is to compete at the Int'l Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam in the Netherlands.

Iran’s documentary ‘Holy Bread’ has been set to compete at the upcoming edition of the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) in the Netherlands.

The Iranian work will vie along with 11 other films at the IDFA Competition for Mid-Length Documentary.

Directed by Rahim Zabihi, ‘Holy Bread’ is about some cross-border couriers who try to make ends meet by smuggling goods into Iran.

Earlier reports said two Iranian films were chosen for IDFA’s official selection.

Marjan Khosravi’s ‘The Snow Calls’ will vie at the festival’s competition for Student Documentary, while ‘Shadegan’ by Ako Salemi will vie for an award at the Kids & Docs competition.

The 33th edition of the Dutch festival will take place online on November 18-December 6, 2020.
