Cinema iFilm has reviewed the late Iranian actor Jamshid Mashayekhi in one the movies he appeared in.

The show features some cuts from one of his movie titled ‘Chrysanthemums’, directed by Rasoul Sader-Ameli.

The movie tells the story of longing and hoping. Esmat has been waiting twenty years for the release of her husband from prison. As she waits patiently, it is her son, Javad, who can’t bear the separation any longer.

Will his longing to see his father prevent him from living a normal life or will he be able to accept the fact that it will be years before he’s able to be with his father?

In addition to Mashayekhi, the cast list of the movie includes Parvaneh Masoumi, the late Davoud Rashidi, Hilda Pirzad, and Bijan Emkanian.

Born in 1934, Mashayekhi left his studies in Theater unfinished and was hired by the newly established Dramatic Arts Center in 1957.

In 1963, he played a role in the short movie 'Snake Cover', directed by Hajir Daryoush.

He officially began his acting career in 1970.

Mashayekhi's debut movie 'Brick and Mirror' (1965) did not keep him away from being involved in theatre as he kept playing roles on stage for years and remained faithful to this fine art.

He has been honored with the First Grade Order of Art and Culture.

His roles in historical TV series such as 'Kamal-ol-Molk' (1984) and 'Hezar Dastan' (1987) exhibit his acting ability.
