From north to south of Iran, there is a wide range of choices that you can pick while traveling to the country. Here is an introduction to an ancient site in southern parts of Iran that may be of visitors’ interest.
Some 15 kilometers to the Iranian southern city of Qeshm, there is an ancient spot called Khorbas.
The area hosts a long mountain range in which there are several caves with historical carvings.
These mountains are geographical features that were once covered with water. There are nine holes that function as an entrance to the caves.
The caves were home to ancient people who designed and carved the interior to meet their own needs.
Behind the entering spots of the cave, there is a hall that is assumed to be a place of worship. The interior details of the hall show that it may have been created in Median era.
The caves are in the vicinity of the ancient city of Khorbas. Experts say this immediacy shows that during the Median era, there was an advanced civilization in Qeshm Island.
