Tehran Int’l short filmfest picked as Oscar qualifying event

The Tehran Int’l Short Film Festival is picked as Oscars qualification event.

The Tehran International Short Film Festival (TISFF) has been picked as one of the Oscars qualification event.

Sadeq Mousavi, the CEO of the TISFF, announced on Saturday that the festival is accepted as a gateway to enter the annual Oscars celebration.

The CEO said “Each film that can receive the main award of Tehran International Short Film Festival will be introduced directly to the Oscar.”

Organized by the Iranian Youth Cinema Society (IYCS), the TISFF is held annually in the Iranian capital city of Tehran to provide an opportunity for young filmmakers to exchange their experiences.

The event, a member of the International Short Film Conference (ISFC), is one of the oldest short film festivals in Iran and the region. It has played host to several international well-known festival directors and cineastes from around the world.

The 37th edition of the TISFF was held in physical and online formats at cinema hall of Iran Mall on January 20-25.

The 38th edition of the event will be held online, due to the Covid19 pandemic, on October 28-November 3.
