Bafq Desert worth visiting for sand lovers

Iran is home to many beautiful deserts around the central cities like Yazd.

Bafq Desert (AKA Caracal Desert), located in Yazd Province, is considered as one of the most well-known habitats of Caracal. That’s why it is also called by the same name.

Caracal is one of the cat breeders of Iran. Being lucky enough, the visitors may catch a sight of the animal in the Bafq Desert.

With an area of nearly 750 square kilometers, the desert hosts some of the largest sand dunes that reach the height of 50 meters with stunning views.

The best time to travel to the desert is from early autumn to mid-spring, when the weather is mild during the day.

Interested in nature and desert hiking, one can spend at least one night away from the city's crowds in absolute silence and tranquility in the Bafq Desert experiencing different moments.
