Kazan festival to screen Iran’s documentary ‘Kal Fatemeh’

Iranian documentary ‘Kal Fatemeh’ is to vie at the 2021 Kazan International Muslim Film Festival in Russia.

Iranian documentary ‘Kal Fatemeh’ is set to compete at the 2021 Kazan International Muslim Film Festival in Russia.

‘Kal Fatemeh’ by Mehdi Zamanpur will be screened at the 17th edition of the Russian event as part of the films taking part in the full-length documentary section.

The documentary is about Fatemeh, an elderly woman who lives with her two sons on a farm on the outskirts of Zerum Village in Iran’s northern province of Mazandaran.

Earlier reports said Iranian movie ‘Sami’, directed by Habib Bavisajed, will be screened at the full-length feature category of the Russian event along with nine other movies from several countries, while Iranian short film ‘The Dolls Game’ will be screened at the short films section of the festival.

The motto of the festival is “To the dialogue of cultures through the culture of dialogue”.

The festival aims to provide a platform for those working in the field of culture and arts in Russia and Muslim countries to exchange their experiences, and aims to display the creative achievements of the Muslim cinematographers, among others.

The 17th Kazan International Muslim Film Festival will be held in the Russian city of Kazan on September 5-10.
