Produced and directed by Alireza Raeesian, the movie tells the story of Farhad, who is soon to be forty years old.
He leads a normal life with his wife Negar and their daughter. When Negar’s former suitor who is now a famous musician comes back to Iran, the past begins to haunt the present.
In a series of events that lay bare what has been hidden beneath a cheerful surface, Farhad and his wife reconsider taken for granted concepts such as love, life and destiny, and are obliged to choose between passion and reason, family and love, and truth and deception.
Written by Mostafa Rastegari, the film features actors such as Leila Hatami, the late Ezzatollah Entezami, Mohammad-Reza Foroutan, Farzan Athari, and Soheila Golestani.
‘Forty Years Old’, made in 2009, is scheduled to go on air at 22:00 GMT.
iFilm English will also repeat the 87-minute movie the next day at 04:00, 10:00 and 16:00 (all GMT times).
