‘No Choice’ tells the story of three women who clash when a determined lawyer takes on the case of a homeless girl against a doctor. A 16-year-old homeless girl repeatedly works as a surrogate mother for money. A human rights attorney tries to rescue her, but inevitably faces difficulties.

The flick has already taken part in various global events such as the 36th annual Mons Int’l Film Festival in Belgium, the 16th Thrissur Int’l Film Festival in India, the 33rd Tokyo Int’l Film Festival in Japan, the 19th Pune Int’l Film Festival in India, the Chennai International Film Fest in India, the 13th Bangalore Int’l Film Festival in India, the Belgrade Int’l Film Festival in Serbia, the 24th Shanghai Int’l Film Festival in China, the 45th Hong Kong Int’l Film Festival, and the Asiatica Film Festival in Italy, where it won Best Film, Best Audience, and Best NETPAC awards.

Recently, the movie has bagged the best film award at the 013 Cinecitta International Film Festival in the Netherlands.

‘No Choice’ stars Fatemeh Motamed-Arya, Negar Javaheriyan, Parsa Pirouzfar, Maryam Boubani and Parivash Nazariyeh.

Iranian maestro Kayhan Kalhor has composed the soundtrack for ‘No Choice’.

Atabai’, a feature film by well-known Iranian actress and filmmaker Niki Karimi, is another Iranian representative at the Sofia filmfest.

The Sofia MENAR Film Festival presents the best of Middle East and North Africa film productions, including feature films, documentaries and short projects.

According to the official website of the event, the term MENAR (Middle East and North Africa Region) is “an acronym often used to cover an extensive area, stretching from Morocco to Iran, including the majority of both the Middle Eastern and Maghreb countries.”

The upcoming edition of the event is slated to be held from January 14 to 30, 2022.
