Int’l Film Festival for Children, Youth underway in Iran’s Isfahan

The Int'l Film Festival for Children and Youth is currently underway in Isfahan.

The International Film Festival for Children and Youth (ICFF) is currently in full swing in the central Iranian province of Isfahan.

Several international films have already graced the festival's feature film competition section, including 'Time of Impatience' by Aydin Orak from Turkey, 'Bantamweight' by Hans Matos Camac from Peru and 'Sea Sparkle' by Domien Huyghe from Belgium-Netherlands.

The rest lineup of the contestants also includes 'Detective Chirp and the Golden Beehive' by Grigoriy Vozhakin from Russia, 'Hug me - The Movie' by Anna Blaszczyk from Poland/China, 'Mother Land' by Jaebeom Park from South Korea, 'To the Bright Side' codirected by Chen Chen from China, 'Adventures in the Land of Asha' by Sophie Farkas Bolla from Canada, and 'Tough' from Indonesia.

The festival's jury panel features both national and international members, including Marzieh Boroumand and Ali Reza Khamseh from Iran, Monica Wahi from India, Yerji Mosković from Poland, Dragan Milinković Femon from Serbia, Melika Zairi from France, and Jun Juang from China.

Additionally, Hadi Mohammadian from Iran, Hakmat Matshar Majidul Baidan from Iraq, Athina Ridaki from Greece, Khatam Seyyed Abd al-Kader from Oman, and Maria Bezenkova from Russia serve on the jury board for the international short and animation section.

This year, the festival received an impressive 550 film submissions across four competitive categories and both national and international sections, encompassing short and feature films. Following a meticulous selection process, 68 films have earned a place in the final phase of the competition.

Under the banner of “Children towards the top”, the festival aims to promote peace, tolerance, moral values, and instill hope among children and young adults.

The 35th International Festival of Children and Youth Films is taking place in Iran’s Isfahan from October 7 to 12, 2023.
