Pakistan hosts Iran's Oscar entry 'In the Arms of the Tree'

Iran's submission to the Oscars 2025 has been screened for the first time in Pakistarn's theaters. 

 The Iranian film 'In the Arms of the Tree' became the first Iranian movie to receive a wide theatrical release across Pakistan.

The film, directed by Babak Khajepasha, began its theatrical run on January 9, 2025.

The movie, which has gained international recognition as Iran's entry for the 2025 Academy Awards, is being distributed by one of Pakistan's largest film distribution companies. 

The release marks a significant milestone in cultural relations between the two neighboring countries.

Movie enthusiasts can watch the film in 10 major Pakistani cities, including Karachi and Lahore.

"The life crisis of Kimia and Farid, who have been married for twelve years, destroys the world of their children. Children who know nothing but kindness in life," a short synopsis for the flick reads. 

This film made its way to about fourteen festivals in countries such as Sweden, Switzerland, the US and India.
