Cinema Verité adds "Iran” section for 12-day aggression docs

The call for entries for the 19th Iran International Documentary Film Festival, Cinema Verité, has been announced, unveiling a new competitive section titled “Iran.”

This latest addition will feature documentaries focused on the recent 12-day Israeli and American aggression against Iran and its impact on Iranian society.

According to Iran's Documentary and Experimental Film Center, the festival’s official call for submissions details a range of competitive and non-competitive categories such as National Competition, International Competition, the Shahid Avini Prize and special events, research seminars, and tributes.

The “Iran” competition section aims to showcase stories of popular resistance, civil solidarity and the collective resilience of Iranian society.

The 19th Iran International Documentary Film Festival Cinema Verité will be held in December 2025.
