In a joyous spiritual ceremony, some 500 memorizers of the holy book brought back the spirit amid the rubble after two years of Israeli regime’s devastating imposed war on Gaza strip.
The event was organized under the auspices and execution of the Emergency Committee in collaboration with Ayadi Al-Khair Foundation and Alia Kuwaiti Charitable Foundation in west Gaza.
The slogan for the gathering read, “Gaza Blooms with Quran Memorizers”, sending a clear message of the Palestinian community’s adherence to its religious identity and core values despite harsh circumstances.
The feedback to the social media posts regarding the event show that the resistance of the Palestinians and their up-beat spiritual mood has been well-witnessed by the awakened men and women around the world.
Despite the fact that the camp has been under several severe attacks throughout the past two years, they have managed to keep their religious side living.
It was on October 9, 2023, when the Israeli regime conducted an airstrike on Al-Shati refugee camp, demolishing four mosques. And a second airstrike on October 12, killed 13 civilians.
On 13 July 2024 the streets of the camp witnessed another savage bombing that devastated many Palestinian families and destructed their homes. The bombing killed 22 worshipers inside a mosque.
