Produced by Hossein Mojahed and edited by Ali Katebifar, its theme is about the schoolkids who lost their lives on February 28, when the Shajareh Tayyebeh elementary school in Minab, Hormozgan Province, became the site of a devastating massacre as the US and Israel initiated strikes against Iran.
As dozens of students aged between 7 and 12 were beginning their lessons, the facility was targeted by a series of deliberate missile strikes that caused the entire building to collapse; which resulted in the confirmed deaths of more than 168 civilians, mostly schoolchildren.
The 40-day US and Israel aggression on Iran led to martyrdom of about 3,500 people, including the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, several officials and military commanders, as well as numerous civilians, including women and children.
Here is the lyrics written by Nasiba Moradi:
Who hears the cry? Who asked why?
Children fade while the world stands by.
School doors close, the bell won't ring,
Dust on desks and broken things,
Blood on pages, chalk turned white,
Dreams went dark in one lost night.
Who hears the cry? Who asks why?
Children fade while the world stands by.
Hospital lights burning low,
Mothers wait and heart still glow.
Smoke and sirens, fear and flame.
Help came late and grief remained.
Playground swings in empty air,
Toys in rubble everywhere.
Break time gone, no laughter near,
Only silence, cold and clear.
World, don't turn your face away.
You see the hurt, but choose to stay.
Silent voices, stone by stone,
Pain grows heavy when left alone.
Who hears the cry? Who asks why?
Children fade while the world stands by.
No child was born for ash and fire,
No mother's love should die on wire.
Who hears the cry? Who asks why?
