The Iranian musical ‘Totol and the Chest Secret’ directed by Vahid Golestan has been published at the domestic market of home entertainment.
‘Totol and the Chest Secret’, produced in 2013, is a musical set in an imaginary city, about a kid who opens a chest out of curiosity.
When the kid, Totol, cannot answer the chest’s questions, a wolf comes out and goes to hunt the goats. Now Totol has to face the consequences of an unintelligent action, opening the secret chest.
Earlier, Golestan said the film is based on a research that he did on cinematic metaphors and semiotics in 2007.
“The special point about ‘Totol and the Chest Secret’ is its structure which is loyal to the story-telling cinema,” he added.
The director also noted that dreaming is attractive for children and the film is teaching thinking and dreaming.
‘Totol and the Chest Secret’ premiered at the 30th edition of the International Film Festival for Children and Youth in the Iranian historical city of Isfahan.
A number of popular Iranian actors, including Mehran Ahmadi, Hassan Majouni, Bahareh Afshari, Amir Ghaffarmanesh, Hadith Fouladvand, Reza Feyz-Norouzi, Nader Soleymani and Nafiseh Roshan, are among the cast.
