Eurasia int’l filmfest shortlists ‘Bystander’

Iran animation ‘Bystander’ has been shortlisted by the monthly Eurasia int’l film festival in Kazakhstan.

Directed by Sheyda Kashi, the animated piece is among the final nominations of the online festival held monthly in the form of live broadcasts.

The festival only public-screens movies that win the ‘movie of the month’ title, and the monthly winners, introduced online, are once again displayed in the annual roundup.

Just two weeks ago, the flick was also nominated from among 3 thousand films to vie at the up-and-coming International Film Festival Hanover, slated to be held November 23 to 26, 2017.

‘Bystander’ is also set to vie at the 15th edition of the Tirana International Film Festival (TIFF) in Albania, scheduled for November 3-11, 2017

The cast includes Saloumeh Gol Naraghi (background), Bita Ali Abadi (character design), Azad Sadeqi (rig), Shahryar Biranvand (animation), Hamid Pakdel (sound) and Nima Javidi (dubbing).

The 8-minute animation was previously screened at the 9th edition of the Iran Independent Animation Celebration and the 4th edition of the Tehran Animation Festival, and the 2017 Short To The Point international film festival in Romania.
