ifilm's exclusive report on Iranian feature ‘Little Heroes’ has revealed a star of the film as being Olympic taekwondo champion Yousef Karami.

‘Little Heroes’ directed by Hossein Qena’at and starring Arjang Amir-Fazli was made to support Iranian productions as well as provide a key entertainment picture to children viewers, the director said in an ifilm report.

The children in the action-packed film are teenagers who practice taekwondo alongside Yousef Karami, an Olympic taekwondo champion.

“We needed a taekwondo champion in our story. Yousef Karami was introduced to me… He didn’t and doesn’t like to be an actor. He accepted to take on this role because it’s the real life Yousef Karami. He did us a huge favor,” Qena’at explained.

Iranian actor Arjang Amir-Fazli, who plays the leading villain in the film, noted that at the film’s screening in theaters, children were seen imitating the martial arts moves.

Qena’at also noted that ‘Little Heroes’ serves as a healthy motivation to children otherwise caught up in the modern day life of computer games and fast food restaurants.
