Six Iranian movies are scheduled to be screened in Malaysia, in the first edition of the Iranian Film Festival.
Iran cultural attaché to Kuala Lumpur, Ali Mohammad Sadeghi, told reporters that the event is aimed at expanding mutual cultural ties, as well as promoting Iranian cinema industry among the Malaysian people and cineastes.
The movies to go on the screen include ‘The Sweet Taste of Imagination’ by Kamal Tabrizi, ‘The Queen’ by Mohammad Ali Bashe Ahangar, ‘Crazy Castle’ by Abolhassan Davoudi, ‘Ceasefire 2’ by Tahmineh Milani, ‘Under the Smoky Roof’ by Pooran Derakhshandeh, and ‘Where Are My Shoes’ by Keyiumars Pourahmad.
Cinemas in Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Johor Bahru will screen the movies from March 7 to 17, 2018.
Sabeghi added that two groups of renowned directors and actors will be in Malaysia in the meantime, including Pooran Derakhshandeh and Merila Zarei, a female actor of ‘Under the Smoky Roof’, who will be in Kuala Lumpur, as well as Abolhassan Davoudi and Azita Hajian, female actor of ‘Crazy Castle’ and many other films and series, who will be in the cities of Penang and Johor Bahru.
Moviegoers will have choices among a total of 36 screenings in major movie theaters, during the 11-day event.
