Italian fest nominates Iran film

‘Photos Can Talk’ to run at Italy fest’s semi-final.

Iran movie ‘Photos Can Talk’ has made it into the semi-final round of competition at the 2nd San Mauro Film Festival (STIFF) in Italy.

Directed by Afshin Amyari, the flick features a filmmaker who is attempting to blend cinema, as an animated, spoken form of art with photography, which is static and silent, in order to produce a static, spoken phenomenon. He then shows his weeklong effort at a studio to find people willing to tell the most prominent love story of their lifetime.

In a narrative to be listened to, seven people from seven generations, tell their stories of romance each, to leave the audience contemplate the similarities and differences among the anecdotes, as the closing credits plays.

This is Amyari’s forth film, which has already got nominations at the 2nd South Film and Arts Academy Festival in Chile, the 2018 FICMARC (Caribbean Sea International Film Festival) in Venezuela, and the 13th edition of Action on Film International Film Festival in the US.

The 2018 edition of the STIFF is slated to be held May 23 to 25, 2018, in Turin, Italy.
