Maadi, Peiman (born in 1972, New York)
Peiman was born to an Iranian couple. His family moved back to Iran when he was five years old. He graduated in Metallurgical Engineering from Karaj Azad University.
Maadi Started his film career as a screenwriter in late 2000s. He has written screenplay for several successful Iranian movies, including ‘Swan Song’ (2000), ‘Wedding Dinner’ (2006), ‘The Snow on the Pines’ (2012) and ‘Bomb a Love Story’ (2018).
He started his acting career in Asghar Farhadi’s ‘About Elly’ (2009). Since then, he has been in a number of award-winning movies such as ‘A Separation’ (2011) which won him Best Actor in leading role from the Berlin International Film Festival.
Some other movies he has been in are ‘Tales’ (2014), ‘Melbourne’ (2014), ‘Life and a Day’ (2016), ‘Bomb a Love Story’ (2018), and ‘Suddenly Tree’ (2019).
Besides the aforementioned titles, he has been in a number of international movies such as ‘Camp X-Ray’ (2014), ‘Last Knight’ (2015), and ’13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi’ (2016).
Maadi has tried his hand at film directing and has made some titles so far, some of which are ‘The Snow on the Pines’ (2012) and ‘Bomb a Love Story’ (2018).
