Farhang, Daryoush (born November 28, 1947, Abadan)

Daryoush Farhang was born in Abadan but raised in Kerman.

Farhang has a degree in theater from Tehran University's Faculty of Fine Arts.

He began his stage career in 1967. Two years later, he formed the Piadeh theater troupe.

He first appeared in a short film named 'Salandar' in 1980.

Farhang began his cinematic career in 1986 as scriptwriter, music editor, producer and director.

His first television series was 'Sultan and the Shepherd' (1981-1984), which became a huge hit.

He has directed some memorable movies and series, such as 'The World’s Best Dad' (1991),'Psycho' (1997), 'Born Again' (1998), 'Lean on the Wind' (1999), 'Tehran Nights' (2000), and 'Night Path' (2006).

He won a Crystal Simorgh and a Special Jury Prize for 'Two Films with One Ticket' (1990) at the 9th Fajr International Film Festival.

Farhang has also acted in movies, such as 'Perhaps Another Time' (1987), 'Diplomat' (1995), 'The Yellow Rose' (2002), 'The Sun Will Rise' (2006), and 'Muhammad: The Messenger of God' (2014).

He has also appeared in series, such as 'The Final Shot' (1994), 'The Trial' (1998-1999), 'The Final Decision' (2001), 'Lost Innocence' (2002), 'The Innocent Ones' (2008), 'Five Kilometers from Heaven' (2011), 'The Pahlavi Hat' (2012-2013), and 'Ahmeen' (2014).
