Tehran fest to host Iran animation

Iranian short animation ‘Crab’ has been selected to vie at the 2021 Tehran International Animation Festival.

Directed by Shiva Sadeq-Asadi, the short animation will be screened at the 12th edition of the event alongside other animated pieces from around the world.

The 11-minute animation narrates the story of a reserved and isolated schoolboy who is a theater enthusiast.

Regardless of his emotional situation, he wishes to play a role in the theater group of his school.

But the only part offered to him is the role of a crab.

The animation has already taken part in a number of global events, including the Ottawa International Animation Fest in Canada, the Countryside Animafest Cyprus film festival, and the Shanghai International filmfest in China.

The TIAF is a biennial event organized by Iran’s Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults.

This year’s edition of the event is scheduled for March 6-10.
