Iranian comedy series ‘Word of a Man’ nears release
The new comedy series ‘Word of a Man’ is nearing completion and is set to air soon on national television.
Directed by Qorban-Ali Taherfar, produced by Iraj Mohammadi, and written by Mostafa Zandi, the filming began in November and continues under the production of the Simafilm, an affiliate of the IRIB.
The 30-episode series stars Mohammad-Reza Hedayati, Shohreh Soltani, Soroush Jamshidi, Roya Mirelmi, Asha Mehrabi, Sirous Meimanat, and Behrad Kharrazi.
Taherfar describes ‘Word of a Man’ as a melodrama with comedic elements, reflecting the cultural, social, and political landscape of the time.
The story follows a young man navigating family challenges in the 1980s Iran.
Iranian action series ‘Algorithm’ in production
The new action-thriller series ‘Algorithm’, directed by Bijan Mir-Baqeri, is currently in production.
Written by Arash Qaderi, known for writing ‘Gando’, the series explores security and police operations against terrorists' financing networks.
Produced by Abolfazl Safari under the Simafilm Foundation, ‘Algorithm’ will span 30 episodes.
The cast includes Amir-Kaveh Ahaninjan, Amirali Danaee, Mehdi Zaminpardaz, Solmaz Ghani, Vanda Jafari, and Alireza Raeesi.
Doc series ‘Reputation of the Alleys’ to air during Ramadan
The television documentary series ‘Reputation of the Alleys’, directed by Reza Mohammadi, is in production and set to air during the holy month of Ramadan on the national TV.
The 26-episode series, each 25 minutes long, pays tribute to Iran’s martyrs and their lasting legacy.
During a visit to the set, Yaqoub Soleimani, Deputy for Culture and Education at the Martyrs and Veterans Affairs Foundation, emphasized that the show reflects the values and sacrifices of those who fought for freedom and justice.
The program aims to keep the memory and message of the martyrs alive, presenting them as enduring symbols of honor and inspiration.
Iranian TV plans series on Mahdism
Salim Ghafouri, Deputy Director of IRIB, has confirmed ongoing discussions about producing a television series focused on Mahdism.
Despite the absence of a drama on this subject in the current lineup, Ghafouri emphasized that Mahdism remains a priority for the national media.
He acknowledged the complexity of the topic, highlighting the need for a well-crafted script and rich content that resonates with audiences while maintaining theological depth.
Ghafouri also noted that developing such a series requires meticulous preparation and a strong creative vision to present Mahdism in a contemporary and engaging way.
While challenges remain in crafting a suitable script and assembling a production team, he expressed hope that Iranian television will eventually bring an inspiring and high-quality portrayal of Mahdism to the screen.
