Farhadi's new film kicks off in Paris

Oscar-winning Iranian filmmaker Asghar Farhadi has kicked off shooting his next feature, 'Parallel Tales' in Paris.

The production boasts a distinguished lineup of French actors, including Isabelle Huppert, Virginie Efira, Vincent Cassel, Pierre Niney and Adam Bessa, with a special appearance by Catherine Deneuve.

The storyline remains undisclosed, but the project is co-produced by Farhadi and his longtime collaborator Alexandre Mallet-Guy, along with David Levine.

The film will be presented to buyers at the Cannes Film Market.

'Parallel Tales' will be a French-Italian-Belgian co-production involving Memento Production, Lucky Red, Panache Productions, and La Compagnie Cinématographique, with Anonymous Content also onboard from the United States.

A theatrical release in France is planned for spring 2026.

Farhadi, known for 'A Hero' (Cannes Grand Prize, 2021) and his French-language debut 'The Past' (2013), has repeatedly collaborated with Memento Production on acclaimed titles, including 'The Salesman' and 'Everybody Knows'.
