Riahi, Shahla (born September 8, 1926, Tehran - died December 31, 2019, Tehran)

Born Qodrat Zaman Vafadoust, Shahla Riahi began stage acting at the age of 17 and soon became popular.

She made her cinematic debut with 'Golden Dreams' in 1951.

Riahi appeared in movies such as 'Mother's Kiss' (1956), 'Charlatan' (1966), 'Tuberose' (1987), 'Little Bird of Happiness' (1987), 'In the Storm's Path' (1988), 'Two Films with One Ticket' (1990), 'The Devoted' (1991), 'I Want to Stay Alive' (1994), 'A Gift From India' (1994), and 'The Eagle's Eye' (1998).

She also took part in several series, including 'Italy Italy' (1977), 'Neighbors' (1993), 'The Spouses' (1994), 'The Store' (1996), and 'A Guest' (2000).

Directing 'Marjan' in 1956, she was the first female director in Iran's cinema history.

The Iranian actress and director passed away due to old age and illness on the last day of 2019.

Shahla Riahi was spouse of Iranian director Esmaeil Riahi.
