Zanjanpour, Akbar (born 1944, Tehran) 

Akbar Zanjanpour studied Theater at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Tehran.

He made his stage debut in ‘Crutch’, directed by Bahman Forsi. Later, he appeared for the first time in a movie named ‘Bita’ (1972).

In 1986, he started teaching at university.

In 1989, he became a member of the international committee of theatre at the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) for a period of one year.

Zanjanpour has taken part in several movies, including  ‘History Makers’ (1980), ‘A Warm Day’ (1984), ‘True Pilgrim’ (1984), ‘Report of a Murder’ (1986), ‘Spectacular Day’ (1994) and ‘Sleep Bridge’ (2014).

He has also appeared in various TV series such as ‘Fire without Smoke’ (1975), ‘The Cuckoo's Song’ (1994), ‘A Place of Love’ (1995), ‘The Loneliest Commander’ (1995), ‘Coast Guard’ (2005), ‘Detectives’ (2008), ‘The Rise of Mokhtar’ (2004-2009), ‘Euphrates’ (2011) and ‘Leila's Loneliness’ (2015).

Besides acting, he has worked in the field of dubbing.
