Farrahi, Bita (born March 21, 1958, Tehran - died November 25, 2023, Tehran) 

Born Bita Laharkhani Dinbali, Bita Farrahi studied Arts at the John Powers School in the United States.

She made her cinematic debut in 1989 with the movie ‘Hamoon’, directed by Daryush Mehrjoee, which earned her the Diploma of Honor for Best Actress in a Leading Role from the 8th Fajr International Film Festival.

Farrahi has performed in a great number of movies, including ‘ Kimiya’ (1994), ‘ Cardboard Hotel’ (1996), ‘ Parkway’ (2007), ‘Six and Five’ (2010), ‘Tidings to Citizen of the Third Millennium’ (2012) and ‘Time of Love’ (2014).

She has also appeared in the series ‘A Place of Love’ (2001), ‘Ancient Land’ (2008-2009), ‘Scratch’ (2011)’,  ‘Memory of the Rainy Night’ (2014),  and ‘Remembrance’ (2014).

‘A House on the Water’ (2001) and ‘Awaiting a Miracle’ (2010) earned her nominations for Crystal Simorgh of the Best Actress in a Supporting Role from Fajr International film Festival. 

Farrahi’s performance in the film ‘Mainline’ (2006) also won awards for the Best Actress in a Leading Role at Karachi International Film Festival as well as North Korea’s Pyongyang International Film Festival.
