Vazirian, Ali (born 1960, Tehran)

Ali Vazirian is a graduate of painting from the college of fine Arts at Tehran University.

He has created a great variety of works including posters, book and magazine design, signs and logotype etc., and his works have been exhibited and introduced in various galleries and exhibitions.

He has founded two publications in the field of plastic and visual Arts and has made a career as a successful creative director. His first collection of works in graphic design was published in 1990 and the sixth book of his works was printed in 2011.

He is the director and founder of the "International Annual of Typography Poster exhibition, themed Asma-ul Husna" & First Biennial Poster Typography in Tehran (November 2005).

In addition he is active as a film director. He made his debut short movie ‘Once Again Rain’ in 2003 which was screened in the competitive sections of several major international film festivals in U.S.A, Australia, Sao Paulo of Brazil, Lebanon, United Kingdom, Japan, North Ireland and Canada. This film won several prizes.

Vazirian's debut feature, ‘God is Close’ (2006), received the honorary diploma for the best first film director at the 25th Fajr International Film Festival in 2007 and won two special prizes of "Don Tonino Bello" from the 10 & 11th Religion Today Film Festival in Italy.

‘A Span of Heaven’ is his second feature film that won many prizes of international festival in the world. 

He made ‘One Line of Reality’ in 2011.
